Please check any ditches where storm water drains across your property to ensure they are clear. We have had several heavy rain storms recently and we’re entering the season when more heavy rain is possible. Please remember that all of the water that drains across our properties flows directly into one of our two lakes, College Creek or Halfway Creek. Pollutants and eroded soil have an immediate impact.
Erosion can present a serious problem in many of our yards and along our neighborhood streets. We want to keep an eye on areas that may erode, and make sure that bare ground is covered with grass, ground cover plants, mulch or leaves. Bare, unprotected ground erodes more easily.
